Tanit Retreats Ibiza started in an unexpected way. The idea first came to me while spending time in Goa, India. Not long after returning to Ibiza, I was approached by someone asking if I could create a private tailor made retreat, even though I wasn’t officially offering retreats at the time. That first retreat became several over the following years, and what started with private one-to-one retreats gradually grew into Tanit Retreats Ibiza.

Couples & Relationships

My interest in relationships started when I was young. For more than 25 years, relationships have been one of my greatest teachers, both personally and professionally.

I’ve always been fascinated by why we can love someone deeply and still trigger each other, lose connection or repeat the same patterns.

After years of working with couples, I’ve seen that every relationship is unique, yet the challenges underneath are often surprisingly similar. We get busy. We react instead of listening. We lose connection with ourselves, and eventually with each other.

That’s why I love working with couples: to help them understand these patterns, reconnect and create a relationship with more intimacy, openness and space to grow together.

A relationship doesn’t need to be perfect

I don’t believe a good relationship is one without challenges. For me, a strong relationship is one where there is enough connection, openness and responsibility to move through those challenges together.

Where you can recognise your own triggers instead of making everything about your partner. Where you remain curious about each other. And where intimacy isn’t something you only make time for when everything else is done.

Because intimacy is much broader than sex. It’s feeling safe enough to be honest. Being able to slow down together. Touch. Play. Listen. Be vulnerable. And sometimes simply enjoy each other again. That’s the foundation I like to work with.

Ibiza is an important part of the experience. There is sea, nature, sunshine, good food and space. No work waiting in the next room. No household that needs attention. No usual routine pulling you in different directions.

Tantra & Intimacy

Tantra is an important part of my work, but perhaps not always in the way people expect.

For me, tantra starts with being fully present with what you feel in your body, rather than only understanding things with your mind.

During a retreat, I introduce you to tantra through practical exercises you can experience together and continue using at home.

We work with the sexual energy in presence, breath, touch and awareness. Not because everything needs to become sexual, but because sexual energy is our life force energy. Learning to feel and work with that energy can create a very different quality of intimacy between two people. The aim isn’t to perform or achieve something. It’s to become more aware of yourself and each other.

The tantra sessions are clothed and there are no sexual acts between facilitator and participants. Boundaries and consent are always respected.

A retreat shaped around you

No two relationships are the same, so I don’t believe in putting every couple through exactly the same programme.

Before your retreat, we’ll find out about where you are in your relationship, what you’re curious about and where you might be getting stuck.

From there, I create the retreat around the two of you.

Depending on what comes up, we may combine tantra with yoga, breathwork, systemic constellations, bodywork, relationship exercises and plenty of time to simply slow down and enjoy Ibiza together.

Sometimes the most valuable part is discovering something you hadn’t realised was affecting your relationship at all. And sometimes it’s simply having the time and attention to find each other again.

Being away from your normal environment changes the pace. I select the accommodation according to the retreat and your wishes, and I personally prepare the meals for my private couples retreats.

Kim Kaur – Founder of Tanit Retreats Ibiza

I founded Tanit Retreats Ibiza in 2018. What started with private one-to-one retreats in the countryside of Ibiza gradually developed into the work I do today.

My professional background brings together more than a decade of training and experience in yoga, tantra, systemic work and body-oriented practices. I’m a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and trained in family and organisational constellations, Biodynamic Rebalancing bodywork and breathwork. Alongside these formal trainings, I’ve spent many years studying and practising tantra in ashrams, retreats and festivals.

I became a mother in 2021, adding another perspective to my understanding of relationships and family dynamics. My own experience with parenthood and changing family structures helps me understand the reality many couples live in today, especially when children, previous relationships and blended families are part of the picture.

Today, I live and work both in Amsterdam and Ibiza and sometimes collaborate with a trusted network of therapists, teachers, bodyworkers and other professionals when additional expertise can enrich a retreat.

Tanit, the ancient goddess associated with Ibiza, is the symbol of the retreats. To me, she represents creativity, fertility and the life energy that also runs through the practice of tantra. Tanit Retreats Ibiza is about creating the circumstances for two people stepping out of everyday life, giving each other their full attention and discovering what becomes possible when they really meet again.
